About This Print
This black and white print of a rose was taken on a vintage Mamiya medium format film camera. Not only does this capture the fine detail in the petals, but it also means the print is available in sizes up the 50 inches across. The main petals of this rose look as if they could be made from porcelain - they are so neat and unblemished, but then there’s the slightly crumpled petal at the bottom of the flower, just to remind us that nature is not always perfect. And isn’t this a reflection of us humans too? Pink Rose, Aqua, Study VII is part of the wider series of black and white floral series Petalum, and was exhibited at the Royal Horticulture Society Shades of Autumn Show, where it won the Silver Grenfell Award.
