About This Print
This beautiful Hosta was grown by Paul in his garden, where it flourishes reliably each year, and was photographed in the studio as part of his black and white botanical series, Petalum. The rest of the series is made up of floral studies, but the Hosta, with its clean lines and minimalist aesthetic, lends itself to the creative use of lighting Paul used and therefore suits the series well. Prints from the Petalum series were exhibited at the Royal Horticultural Society Shades of Autumn Show in London, where the selection of works won Paul the Silver Grenfell Award.
