About This Print

The unusual looking black parrot tulips were grown by Paul in his garden and the striking character of these flowers make them ideal subjects for the Petalum series of black and white floral portraits. Petalum explores the textural detail of the flowers chosen for the series and the emphasis is on light and shade, created by Paul’s method of ‘painting with light’. The series was exhibited at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Shades of Autumn show, where it won the Silver Grenfell Award.
